Hi, I’m Jason from the company Blockout Blinds and today I’m going to talk about a blind that is great for heat and light.
00:14 – Keep light and heat out scenario
Okay so maybe you’ve got a room that you need to keep the light out such as a bedroom and maybe your room gets a bit hot as well.
We recently had a client in that situation, so let’s take a look a this photo here and what do we have?
We have a bedroom obviously with no blinds hence why we were there and there are also a couple of other things to consider here.
- It’s on a second story – Heat rises and the room gets hot
- Westerly facing – What made it worse is that this room faced West and got all of the afternoon sun as well.
00:43 – So what was their criteria?
They wanted a blind that stopped most of the light from coming in and they wanted something that helped with the heat.
00:53 – The sweet solution
So let’s take a look at this next photo here and what do we have? This is called a honeycomb blind on the two windows. They are fantastic for a couple of reasons, firstly they are mounted very close to the glass which means not much light comes in from the sides and it also stops the airflow from coming in making the air hot.
Secondly, the honeycomb blinds are made up of individual cells which acts like a double glaze window, which means that they are one of the best blinds for putting on the inside of your home to stop heat from coming in.
01:26 – Summary
So this client got everything they were after, they got their light blocked out, they got the heat reduced and they can finally sleep in and go to bed without the room being too hot.
So honeycomb blinds, great for light, fantastic for keeping out the heat, do you like the look? The main reason why you would choose these blinds is not for its looks but for the practicality and great job at what they are designed to do.
