Hello I’m Jason from the company Blockout Blinds. I hope you’re having a great day.

Today I’m going to be talking about the colorbond colours that awnings come in and the whole new fancy name thing.

Well, awning hoods come in an aluminium and they’re made in the same colours as a lot of the colorbond colours which is fantastic. What I wanted to show to you today is all the colours available and just let you know that colorbond decided about a year or so ago to spice up the names of their colours. They sort of thought their existing names were a bit of plain Jane.

So, while the colours are the same except for a few new colours, the names have changed. In the blind industry we tend to use the older names still because that’s just what we’re used to. However, when you’re building or designing your home most the people you’re dealing with will use the new names.

So, let’s have a look at the colours and what the two names are for each of them.

1 – Primrose / Classic Cream
First of all we have primrose which is a very well known, is now called “Classic Cream”.

2 – Merino / Paperbark
Next one up we have good old merino which they’ve change to a fancier name “Paperbark”.

3 – Wheat / Sandbark
Then we have wheat very plain sounding isn’t it? So we upgraded that one, it’s now called “Sandbark”.

4 – Mist Green / Wilderness
The next one is a very popular colour which is mist green didn’t sound good enough? so now you can have “Wilderness”.

5 – Caulfield Green / Cottage Green
This one you’ll see a lot of heritage homes good old caulfield green now been upgraded to “Cottage Green”.

6 – Heritage Red / Manor Red
Another one we see on heritage homes which is heritage red but now it’s “Manor Red”

7 – White / Surfmist
And of course good old white can no longer be called white, it’s “Surf Mist”

8 – Mountain Blue / Deep Ocean
Mountain blue is now “Deep Ocean”.

9 – Woodland Grey / Slate Grey
Another very popular colour which was woodland grey is now called “Shale Grey”.

10 – Monument (NEW)
This one here hasn’t been changed it’s a new colour and it’s called “Monument”.

11 – Black / Night Sky
Next up we have black which is now called “Night Sky”.

12 – Pottery (NEW)
This one again another new colour called “Pottery”.

13 – Jasper (NEW)
Another new colour which is being very popular to date is “Jasper”.

14 – Brown (unchanged)
Last but not least is ”Brown” now for some reason this hasn’t been changed it’s just still called “Brown” been around a long time and they decide to keep it as brown.

So there’s the fourteen colorbond colours that we can make your awnings in, you now know the old name and the new name plus you have a bit of an idea of what’s available.

So, once again I hope I’ve been of a help to you and until next time.
