Hi I’m Jason from the brand Blockout Blinds and today I’m bringing you a little design tip when it comes to colours of your blinds.
0:17 – White Blinds aren’t always the way to go
So when it comes to colours of your blinds, quite often we have homes with white coloured walls and a lot of our clients think that put in white-coloured blinds is the best way to go.
Now that can be the case sometimes but quite often, if you match the colour of the blind to the wall, it just sort of washes altogether and looks a bit, wishy washy.
0:41 – Darker blinds are the way to go!
So, we’ve got an example here of a job we’ve installed in the recent weeks — just to give you an idea that quite often darker blinds are the solution!
So let’s have a look…In this first photo, you can see a new home with a nice shinny; glossy, floorboards there and we have the windows with no blinds on it.
So if we shoot across this next video, you’ll see the blinds installed, they’re hanging about a third of the way down, and the client has gone for a dark colour.
Now the dark colour; it breaks up the room, it breaks up the wall, and it actually makes the room probably feel a little bit more stylish as well. And another good thing with dark blinds of course is that they don’t get dirty easily because the dark colour sorts of hides anything that sort of maybe rubs on or dust or anything like that.
1:31 – What a gorgeous difference dark blinds make
So let’s take a look at this last photo; the same blinds on the fall-down position, and I’m sure you’ll agree that even though we didn’t have any furniture and stuff in there, it looks quite nice and you can imagine how that room will probably finish off once the couch and everything goes in.
So, as I’ve said; most people think that a light blind is the solution. But more often than not, we go for a darker colour, and it just makes the room puff and just breaks off the colours around the room a little bit more creating a bit more of a stylish look.
So I hope that’s given you a few ideas for when you need to get blinds, and until next time.
