0:01 Welcome
Hi I’m Jason from the brand Blockout Blinds and today I’m here to show you yet another home transformation.
0:17 Standard Cheap Venetian Blinds
Now a lot of people out there have investment properties and of course in investment properties what do you have? You have tenants and sometimes you just can’t control what they do. A lot of people opt for slim line Venetians for rental properties. Why? Well I suppose they wanted the cheaper of less expensive blinds that you can actually put in, and also because their low Venetians you can alter the tilt. You sort of you can control the sun or the privacy factor of the view from the window.
0:53 What you don’t know about Cheap Venetian Blinds…
But what a lot of people don’t take into consideration is that slim line venetians are one of the easiest blinds to damage!
Which means that you’re going to replace them if they get damaged. So, lets have a look what I mean…now check out this photo here; there’s 3 slim line venetians over one window.
Now, I don’t know why they didn’t just put one big one, but that’s another story. And what do you see? Well all the slats, they’re made of aluminum, they’re all bent and buckled, and broken. Because slim line aluminum Venetian of you lean against the or fall against them or your chair rocks over them and it hits it and bends it. Once it’s bent, it’s bent. It doesn’t get fixed and it looks terrible. So obviously this client of ours had a change in tenants and they obviously are not going to get over and rent it our very easily with slim line Venetians in these sort of conditions.

So, let’s have a look at what we did; this next photo over here you can see we’ve put in dual roller blind. And funny enough it’s actually got a nice view of the city over Melbourne!
So, we’ve put a screen blind for privacy we’ve got a blockout blind you know to keep the room darker at night time. And look at this next photo here and this is the same blind just we got the screen all the way down to help keep that sun out. Yes maybe they’re less expensive and initially if you’ve got tenants you might want to be pretty cautious because they break very easily and we know alot of tenants most of the time don’t take as much care as we would if we were personally living in our house.
So, I hope you find that bit of information useful and until next time.
