Home Transformation – Filter That Light and That Ugly Building

Hi I’m Jason from the brand Blockout Blinds, and today, I’m showing you how you can get rid of the bad view.

A lot of times we need to put blinds up — not to keep the light out, but simply maybe just for a bit of privacy, or maybe improving the view.

When I mean improving the view I mean blocking out maybe some of the view that’s not the most desirable.

What am I taking about? Well let’s have a look at this first photo here. And you can see we’re in the apartment in the city of Melbourne, and looking outside what do you see?

Well you’ve got another building, not the prettiest of buildings, and of course you got windows across the road as well.

So, that means people can look inside and see you. So, if you put a general blind under the blockout material, you’re going to solve all these problems, but you’re going to make the room very dark.

So let’s have a look at this after photo and you can see here that we put some roller blinds on in a light-filtering material.

So what does that mean?

Well, light-filtering material is a material without a solid backing, and it allows the light to penetrate through. But you can’t actually physically see through the blind.

So I’m sure you’ll agree that this photo here, which is the second before photo, is looking out and here’s the after photo again with the blinds down with the light filtering fabric.

Makes inside look better, also there’s privacy now during the day. But what we haven’t done is made the room feel really dark and have to put the lights on because we’re getting that nice glow of light through the blind.

So there you have it, just another idea of how to improve your view and create some privacy and that’s using the blind that has light filtering material and that can either be generally a roller blind, or a roman blind that probably use light filtering material.

So I hope I’ve been of help, and until next time.
