Hi I’m Jason from the company Blockout Blinds and today I’m going to be explaining to you how to put your beautiful cafe blinds into the down position.

How to correctly roll down your cafe blinds

Now here I am in my beach side holiday house (I wish) and I’ve come back after a couple of weeks of not being here and my blinds are in the up position, because that’s how we always leave them because we don’t want the wind to wreck them when we’re not at home.

So how do we put our blinds down? Very simple if you follow these steps.

Step 1: Unclip the securing clips

The first thing to do is to unclip your securing clips, one of the left and one on the right, very straight forward. The blind won’t roll down because it’s still being secured by the cord. So just make sure the cord is still nice and tight on the cleat before you do that otherwise the blind will crash to the ground.

Step 2 – Undo the cord

Next thing we do is undo the cord here so I’m just going to remove that and you want to do that carefully so I’m holding the rope tight. Then lowering the blind with both ropes evenly coming down we just get that down to the bottom. Now as you can see when we roll it down we have the weather flap, we just want to make sure that weather flap is pointing to the outside so as to allow the rain to run off when it rains.

Step 3 – Pull down the zips

So the blind is down, it all looks good, nearly there, all we have to do now is to put the zips down so I’ll start with the left one and I’ll wind that all the way to the bottom. Now I’ll do the right zip.

Step 4 – Secure the Storm Clips

Lastly we have the storm clips which I’ll just secure those elastic bands over the clips on the ground which can sometimes be a little bit tricky and put them in.

Summary

So there you have it, you now have your blind in the down position and you can now sit outside and enjoy your bottle of wine or whatever it is while looking outside at the world as it is.
