Product Tip – Gear and Cranks

Hi, I’m Jason from the brand Blockout Blinds.

And today, I’m just going to show you how you can close up your pergola to get a lot more use out of it. This time of year when the sun comes out, our phones go crazy.

And a lot of that craziness is because people want to close in their pergolas to protect themselves from the sun and the wind so they can get more use out of their pergola.

And one of the most common products that we install on pergolas is our straight drop awning in a mesh fabric.

So let’s have a look at this first photo here…you can see that we have a white mesh — this customer has gone for a contrasting colour, and the way these work is that they wind up and down with a crank mechanism, and they just have clips at the bottom.

So it’s very simple, the blinds are either up, out of the way, or you roll the blind down and clip it at the bottom and it’s all the way down giving you protection.

So this white fabric you can see through it, and being white would probably protect a little bit more from the heat as well.

And you can see here we’ve matched the hood of the awnings with the colour bond of the guttering.

Let’s have a look at the next photo now…so another similar scenario…but here we’ve gone for sort of a charcoal mesh and that’s all the rage at the moment. Looks nice, it’s easy to see through. And here we’ve gone for the green hood to match with the guttering.

And in this last photo…once again, another grey charcoal coloured mesh with a grey charcoal coloured hood.

I’m sure you’ll all agree that it looks awesome, and I know that all these clients have been wrapped because now they sit outside, it’s cooler, it’s a bit windy without feel the wind, and even sometimes on those slightly rainy days it just stops the rain from being blown in as well,

They’re easy to install, and they give you a huge result making your pergola useable all year round.

So I hope you found that interesting, and if you’re looking at getting your pergola enclosed why not give us a call?

Till next time.
