Hi I’m Jason from the company Blockout Blinds and I hope you’re having a great day.
Today I’m going to be talking to you about things to consider when selecting your awning hoods.
When it comes to awning hoods, not many people realise that the colours are actually the same as the colour bond colours which means their fantastic for matching into existing guttering etc. around your home.
Now, when you’re selecting your awning hood colours there’s a few things you might want to coordinate with:
- You might want to coordinate with the actual gutter or your down-pipes.
- You might want to coordinate with the colour of the home or
- You might not want to coordinate with anything on the home but have the hood matching nicely with the fabric, and the fabric and the hood itself are not really matching in with the house but they just still look fantastic on their own on the house.
So, lets have a look at a couple of pictures and it might makes things a bit more clear.
1. Awning Hood matched to Gutter and Fabric
In this first photo, you can see an awning with some beige and heritage red stripes and here the awning hood is matching in exactly with the guttering but it’s also picking up the stripes on the awning itself which looks fantastic.
2. Awning Hood matched to Gutter with Contrasting Fabric
In this next picture, the fabric you can see doesn’t really match in with the house but it does look quite nice on it’s own, and here the awning hood is the slate grey colour which is matching in with the guttering which brings it all together.
3. Awning Hood matched only to Fabric
Now let’s go over the next picture, where we can see a beige type plain colour awning and a matching hood. Now once again this doesn’t really match in with the guttering of the house but the tone of the fabric and the hood together do balance in well with the colour of the home.
4. Awning Hood matched to Fabric and Doors
Moving on with the next picture, you can see a few motorised fixed guide awnings and here the owner is selected to have both the colour of the fabric and the hood pick up on the colour of the doors.
5. Awning Hood matched to Fabric Only
Moving on to this next one, here you can see some slate grey awnings which don’t correspond to any of the colours on the home but still on their own look fantastic on the home and here they’ve just put a slate grey colour canvas fabric with a slate grey hood and it looks fantastic.
6. Awning Hood matched to Fascias
On this next one here, you can see once again here we have a beige colour fabric and we have a mist green hood which is picking up the fascias colour around the roof which makes it all makes it all blend in very nicely.
7. Awning Hoods matched to Gutter with Fabric matching Gutter and Posts
On this next one here, we have some spring roller awnings attached to a patio and here the hoods blend in beautifully with the heritage green gutter and in the fabric is a tone between green and beige, and the green picks up the gutter and the beige picks up the fence post and the house.
8. Awning Hoods matched to Fascia with Fabric matching Gutters
The last picture that we have here is more of a modern looking home, and here the owners have decided to go for a fabric that picks up the colour of the roof and the gutter and a little bit different making the hoods match the fascia as opposed to the guttering. Quite often the guttering and the fascia matching occasionally their not and here they decided to pick up on the fascia.
So there you have it, a few little tips on what to look for and what to do when selecting the hoods for your awnings when you’re next purchasing them ready for summer.
So once again, I’m Jason from Blockout Blinds. I hope I’ve been a help and until next time.
