Why Use Fly Screens on Your Home

Fly screens are a wonderful invention for homes in areas where maybe you would like more access to the outside and do not wish to be constricted with conventional screens. A conventional screen is fixed on the window and normally requires the screen to be unscrewed from the window in order to remove. Then you have the issue of storing the screens, all because you wish to have a bit of fresh air enter the home, but when insect season comes, you have to scramble to replace the screens. Many will opt to leave them alone and forego their desire to have wide open windows and doors.

Fly screens offers a better way to use screens with the ease of opening and shutting. These are retractable, to the side, or they rise up like a window. If you are having a nice, warm breezy day and don’t want the restrictions of a screen, with a fly screen it is easy to simply retract or raise. And at the end of the day, simply shut them with no worries of having to screw them back into place. This is ideal for climates where there are days that are insect free and this makes for a great way to allow maximum airflow in through the window.

For sliding glass doors or patio doors (and even double French doors) the use of sliding screen doors does not always work out. Sliding screen doors tend to get stuck, or skip off track, causing the entire door to not open nor close correctly. Using a fly screen for a door is an ideal and perfect solution. These doors open with the ease of a magnetic strip, so either you can push through like a curtain, or they are on an automatic tract, that runs smooth. No more worries of the screen door becoming stuck, then slamming onto fingers or toes. Some fly screen doors will even have an automatic breaking system that will stop at any resistance, making it a safe solution for small children.

How do these fly screens look? They certainly appear more stylish than traditional screens, in materials that have better visual. They are durable; they do not bend and get holes like traditional screens. Because they are easy to open and close, you will not have to worry about warped frames, and ill-fitting screens. The fly screens fit nicely within the window or door frame.
